NFL Free Agency 2026 Teams with Most Salary Cap Space Ahead of Saturday's Signings

Kristopher KnoxMar 14, 2026

NFL free agency continues to roll on, and while the signings aren't rolling in as rapidly as they did early in the week, they are still coming.

Friday wasn't filled with blockbusters. However, it did bring a number of potential bargain signings with players like Rasheed Walker, Nate Hobbs, Dalvin Tomlinson, Jonathan Owens, Simi Fehoko, and Dyami Brown landing new contracts.

Readers can follow all of the signings and trades with Bleacher Report's Free-Agent Tracker.

The market isn't going to close for the weekend. Before we get into Saturday's action, let's take an updated look at the salary cap landscape and the league's latest moves.

Friday Recap

OT Rasheed Walker

Friday wasn't exactly chock full of activity, but we did see several notable veterans agree to new contracts.

Rasheed Walker was arguably the biggest. The former Green Bay Packers starter was the fourth-ranked player on B/R's initial free agent big board and is a great addition for the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina's starting left tackle, Ikem Ekwonu, suffered a ruptured Patellar tendon in the playoffs. Walker is a 26-year-old left tackle with 48 starts on his resume.

Walker wasn't the only notable addition made on Friday, either. The Detroit Lions signed tight end Tyler Conklin, the Washington Commanders signed wide receiver Van Jefferson, and the San Francisco 49ers signed cornerback Nate Hobbs.

We also saw a noteworthy departure that impacted the salary cap landscape significantly. The Tennessee Titans released cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, saving $11.4 million in cap space in the process.

On Friday, we saw the Pittsburgh Steelers' trade for wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. finalized, too. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Pittsburgh is getting Pittman and the 230th pick in the draft for the 214th pick in the draft.

What we didn't see was a trade involving Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, though he remains the topic of trade speculation.

According to Dianna Russini and Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic, the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams have been interested in Brown, while Philly's asking price is a first-round pick and a second-round selection.

Things may not move quickly on the Brown front, but his situation remains worth watching over the weekend.

Teams With the Most Cap Space

Tennessee's release of Sneed put the Titans back at the top of the salary cap hierarchy, where the team was heading into the offseason.

The Titans have been active this week, adding players like cornerback Alontae Taylor, corner Cor'Dale Flott, defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, and wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson. However, they're still poised to be major players in the second wave of free agency.

The Washington Commanders are in a similar position. After five days, they've added the likes of running back Rachaad White, edge-rusher Odafe Oweh, defensive lineman Charles Omenihu, and tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo. They may not be done either.

The Arizona Cardinals now round out the top three. While Arizona has made some important additions, it didn't load up on stars early in the week. The Cardinals' biggest addition, at least in terms of price, is that of guard Isaac Seumalo.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens round out the top five, though they may be interested in bargain shopping during free agency's second wave. Both teams are likely to prioritize locking up young players over free-agent spending. Baltimore, for example, is still eyeing an extension with quarterback Lamar Jackson, according to Schefter.

The Steelers did have a surplus of cap space, but taking on Pittman's contract is expected to carry an estimated $24 million cap hit.
