Trey Hendrickson Hypes 'Amazing Opportunity' to Win Super Bowl with Ravens After $112M Contract

Mike ChiariMar 13, 2026

Star pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson discussed his championship aspirations Friday during his introductory press conference with the Baltimore Ravens.

According to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, Hendrickson said, "I'm in a win-now window. This opportunity to hoist the Lombardi Trophy and build something from the ground up is an amazing opportunity. A lot of things have transpired. This is a great fit for me."

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported this week that Hendrickson agreed to a four-year, $112 million contract with the Ravens in free agency. The deal could be worth up to $120 million with incentives, and $60 million is guaranteed.

The signing of Hendrickson on Wednesday capped a whirlwind 24 hours for the Ravens, as they reneged on an agreed-upon trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for pass-rusher Maxx Crosby on Tuesday night.

Baltimore had agreed to send two first-round picks to the Raiders in exchange for Crosby, but the Raiders announced Tuesday that the Ravens had "backed out."

It was later reported by Dianna Russini of The Athletic that the Ravens nixed the trade when Crosby did not pass his physical. Crosby underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee in January.

Still, the Ravens managed to come away with a big-time pass-rusher in Hendrickson, who has 81 career sacks in nine seasons with the New Orleans Saints and Cincinnati Bengals.

Hendrickson was named a Pro Bowler in each of his first four seasons with the Bengals, and he was also a First Team All-Pro and finished second in NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2024 when he led the league with 17.5 sacks.

Last season, Hendrickson finished with four sacks, as he was limited to only seven games due to core muscle surgery.

That injury, coupled with the fact that Hendrickson is 31 years old, led some to question the likelihood of his contract paying off for the Ravens.

Despite that, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta made it clear Friday that he believes Hendrickson still has plenty of great football ahead of him, telling reporters, "I feel like he has a lot left in the tank."

In the Ravens, Hendrickson is joining a team that went a disappointing 8-9 and missed the playoffs last season. However, Baltimore reached the postseason in each of the previous three campaigns.

If two-time NFL MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson can stay healthy after missing time last season due to injury, the Ravens should be back in the mix as a Super Bowl contender in 2026.
