Fantasy Baseball 2026 Dynasty Rankings Advice and Top Prospects, Stars to Draft

Zach BuckleyMar 13, 2026

If commitment isn't your thing, then dynasty fantasy baseball probably isn't for you.

Since this is a dynasty-focused article that you opened, though, we're guessing you're interested in more than catch-and-release fantasy rosters. You'd like to keep sluggers, speedsters and star hurlers around a little longer than a single season, right?

It can be a super fun format, provided you collect the right players. Our job is to help you to find them, which we'll try to do here with a snapshot of our early-round dynasty rankings and then spotlights on our top prospects and established stars to draft.

  • Top Prospects to Target

    2 of 3
Baltimore Orioles v St. Louis Cardinals

    Justin Crawford, OF, PHI

Crawford, the son of four-time MLB All-Star (and former fantasy juggernaut) Carl Crawford, has a chance to hit the ground running for the Phillies. Literally. The younger Crawford has every bit of his old man's speed, evidenced most recently by the 46 bases he swiped in 112 games at Triple-A last season.

Crawford should have an everyday role in Philly until he proves he can't handle it, and his wheels and bat-to-ball skills suggest he's ready to reward that trust. He should be an early source of steals and batting average, but his counting categories could climb if he works his way up the order, and there's hope he won't be a complete zero in the power department.

    Konnor Griffin, SS, PIT

There isn't a more exciting prospect in baseball right now than Griffin. He's so exciting, in fact, that it seems reasonable to target him early in the draft despite not knowing whether he'll have a big-league gig on Opening Day.

The 19-year-old pairs elite tools with prodigious talents, all indicators pointing toward colossal five-category contributions in his near-future. He played 122 games across three levels last season and filled them with 21 homers, 65 steals and 211 combined runs and RBI.

    JJ Wetherholt, SS, STL

Wetherholt doesn't have quite the same buzz as Griffin, but he's a drool-worthy prospect in his own right—and should have a cleaner path to the Majors. He is average-to-good in just about every aspect of the game, so even if some parts of his skill set don't translate right away, he should find ways to make a positive impact.

What does that mean for fantasy? It's always hard to say for unproven prospects, but he looks like the best kind of a jack-of-all-trades. In 109 games between Double-A and Triple-A last season, he posted a .306/.421/.510 slash line with 17 home runs, 23 stolen bases and 82 runs scored.

    Top Stars to Draft

    3 of 3
Los Angeles Dodgers v Los Angeles Angels

    Bobby Witt Jr., SS, KC

A lot of times in dynasty drafts, you'll find yourself choosing between elite production or youth and the upside that comes along with it. With Witt, though, you get the best of both worlds. He's already a two-time All-Star and franchise fantasy talent at just 25 years old.

And since his skill set touches all categories—you don't get credit for this, but he's a Gold Glover, too—he can support any and all varieties of roster builds. Through four big-league seasons, his average 162-game output includes 27 homers, 38 steals and 201 combined runs and RBI.

    Shohei Ohtani, SP/DH, LAD

Ohtani, who turns 32 this July, is a little older than the typical dynasty darling, but also...he's Shohei Ohtani. Does this even need an explanation?

He is a legitimate ace pitcher and an awesome hitter. If your league allows you to utilize him in both roles, then he's the ultimate cheat code in fantasy (just like he's been in real life). Last season, he had 55 homers, 20 steals, 146 runs and 102 RBI while also tallying 62 strikeouts and a 2.87 ERA in his 47 innings pitched.

    Kyle Tucker, OF, LAD

Tucker won't be drafted as high as the others listed here, but if he stays upright for his first full season with the Dodgers, maybe we're singing a different tune next draft season. Because a healthy Kyle Tucker in this loaded lineup could be a fantasy monster.

Injuries are basically the only worry here. He has only cleared 140 games three times (and only reached 150 games twice), but if he ever stuck around for a full season, his numbers could be silly. His career 162-game averages are 31 homers, 25 steals, 96 runs and 103 RBI.
