Maxx Crosby Says He's 'Back' in 1st Post Since Canceled Raiders-Ravens Trade, Drops Undertaker Gif

Las Vegas Raiders star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby reacted to the failed trade that would have sent him to the Baltimore Ravens on social media.

Crosby wrote that "everything happens for a reason" as part of a Wednesday post on X.

The Ravens reportedly agreed to acquire Crosby from the Raiders in exchange for two first-round draft picks on Friday, but backed out of the trade on Tuesday.

Baltimore later signed defensive end Trey Hendrickson to a four-year, $112 million contract.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that Crosby did not pass his Ravens physical, which led to the trade being called off.

He didn't play during the final two games of the 2025 season due to a knee issue, eventually undergoing surgery on Jan. 7.

Crosby's surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, provided an update regarding the five-time Pro Bowler's recovery following the failed swap.

"Maxx Crosby is doing very well in the early part of his rehab and recovery from surgery to treat a significant meniscus tear and the related stress injury to the bone and cartilage in his knee," ElAttrache said as part of a statement issued to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "He is certainly on track in his planned program….he feels very well and is already much improved compared to before surgery."

Per Russini, it was "made clear by multiple people around the NFL at all levels" that Baltimore knew where Crosby's recovery was at and "many in the league" believe that the Ravens got cold feet.

While the 28-year-old might still experience a change of scenery, he's reportedly ready to move forward as a member of the Raiders once again.

Crosby is coming off another strong season with Las Vegas in 2025, amassing 73 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 20 quarterback hits, 10 sacks and six passes defended across 15 appearances.
