Maxx Crosby Rumors Trade Reveal Ravens Considered Renegotiating Raiders Deal Amid DE's Injury Rehab
The Baltimore Ravens shockingly pulled out of their trade for Maxx Crosby on Tuesday, but the team reportedly considered other options before making that decision.
According to NFL Network's Jane Slater and Mike Garafolo, the Ravens considered renegotiating the trade with the Las Vegas Raiders after Crosby's physical, but ultimately opted to nix the deal completely after "further medical information" was revealed.
The Ravens initially sent first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 to the Raiders in return for Crosby, who has a $35.7 million cap hit for the upcoming season. Las Vegas announced Tuesday that Baltimore had pulled out of the trade.

Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the decision came after the star pass rusher, who is rehabbing from a torn meniscus, did not pass his physical. NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe noted that all parties involved in the trade knew Crosby would be out until June or July because of the surgery.
"Consensus opinion I've got from NFL decision makers: Ravens got cold feet and it could impact how other teams work [with Baltimore] going forward," Wolfe wrote.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport added that the Ravens didn't feel like the two picks plus taking on Crosby's salary were worth it.
"If they want to pay Maxx Crosby his entire salary and two first-round picks, they might decide that—the knee, meniscus repair, not fully back—that it is not worth the risk," Rapoport said. "That is clearly the decision that the Baltimore Ravens have made. It is not unprecedented. It is incredibly, incredibly rare."
After the announcement, Crosby's agent, CJ LaBoy, said on social media that Crosby "continues to be on track in his recovery and if anything is ahead of schedule."
The Raiders trading Crosby is not off the table yet, but Baltimore's decision to back out of the trade will almost certainly hurt his value moving forward.
