Jake Paul 'Would Love' to Fight Conor McGregor in MMA and Boxing, Says MVP Co-Founder in New Video
Jake Paul has yet to lineup his next boxing match after his knockout loss against Anthony Joshua in December, but his longtime confidant has something in mind for his return to the spotlight.
While speaking to TMZ's Michael J. Babcock, Nakisa Bidarian, the co-founder of Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, declared that the YouTuber would welcome a series of fights against UFC star Conor McGregor.
"I have the perfect idea. We do the MMA fight with Jake and Conor, and then we do the boxing match with Jake and Conor. Perfect co-promotion. Fans get one of the biggest back-to-back fights in history," Bidarian said at the 6:48 mark. "Jake would love to fight Conor McGregor in MMA. Love. Love, love, love."
For now, Bidarian's idea is simply a pipe dream, as the UFC has historically refused to do business with another combat sports promotion. Bidarian made it clear that MVP doesn't hold any animosity toward the UFC, despite the contentious relationship between Paul and UFC president Dana White.
McGregor hasn't fought since July 2021, though he recently hinted that his return fight is being lined up for this summer. He's still under contract with the UFC, so he would have to complete the fights remaining on his deal before exploring outside endeavors, such as a fight against Paul.
Bidarian added that he feels a series between Paul and McGregor should start in the boxing ring before heading to the cage, and he would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with the UFC to make it happen sooner rather than later.
"I think you start in boxing, go to MMA," he said. "But we'd love to work with the UFC on a co-promotion on an event, of course."
