WNBA Star Angel Reese Joins Ownership Group of NBL's Brisbane Bullets
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is expanding her list of investments by joining an effort to expand Australian women's professional basketball.
Reese is joining the ownership group of the NBL's Brisbane Bullets, the team announced Wednesday.
Her investment will back efforts by team ownership to secure a bid for the 10th franchise in Australia's WNBL, according to the Bullets.
Brisbane Bullets CEO Malcolm Watts said in a statement that Reese was "a fantastic ambassador for basketball and a globally recognized superstar."
"Basketball is Queensland's fastest growing sport, and having Angel involved as we pursue a WNBL team is a huge asset," Watts said.
The WNBL last expanded in August 2025 by announcing the addition of a ninth team in Tasmania. The league reportedly plans to add one more team ahead of the start of the 2026-27 season.
Reese previously joined the ownership group of the DC Power Football Club, a professional women's soccer team playing in the USL's Gainbridge Super League, in 2024.
She has previously been connected with Australian professional basketball through her footwear partnership with Reebok, which announced a new partnership with the WNBL in the wake of the launch of the Angel Reese 1 in February.
