New Trade Landing Spots for Raiders' Maxx Crosby After Ravens Deal Falls Through

Alex KayMar 11, 2026

The NFL world was rocked on Tuesday night when it was reported that the Baltimore Ravens cancelled their impending trade for Las Vegas Raiders' superstar Maxx Crosby.

According to ESPN's Ryan McFadden, league sources revealed that the Ravens pulled out of the deal due to "medical concerns that arose during a physical".

Crosby had been playing through injuries before the Raiders forced him to sit out the final two games of the 2025 season. He underwent surgery for a torn meniscus in his left knee in January.

The Raiders are "prepared to get Crosby healthy and have him play" for the team in 2026, but there's still a chance the edge defender could be dealt before the upcoming campaign kicks off.

While Baltimore was willing to give up the No. 14 overall pick in 2026 and a first-rounder in 2027 to get Crosby, his value may likely dropped in wake of these health concerns. SI.com's Albert Breer reported that the Raiders won't "trade Crosby on a discount", but it's difficult to envision rival franchises matching the type of offer the Ravens made now that these medical issues have come to light.

With that in mind, let's look at a few new Crosby trades that could emerge in wake of the Ravens deal falling through.

New England Patriots

Las Vegas Raiders receive: 2026 first-round draft pick (No. 31 overall), 2026 third-round draft pick (No. 95 overall), two 2026 sixth-round draft picks (Nos. 198 & 202)

New England Patriots receive: Edge Maxx Crosby

The Patriots have already had a busy offseason adding pieces to an already-strong defense that helped spur a Super Bowl run, but they shouldn't hesitate to reach out to Las Vegas regarding a Crosby trade.

New England added some firepower on the edge earlier this week in the form of Dre'Mont Jones, signing the free-agent pass rusher to a three-year, $39.5 million deal. That may not be enough to push the Patriots over the top, however, as the team ranked in the bottom quarter of the league in sacks last year with a lowly 35.

Although he was dealing with a knee injury that ultimately led to his failed physical with the Ravens, Crosby remained unstoppable in 2025. He recorded 10 sacks in 15 games, topping the seven-sack mark for the seventh consecutive season. Harold Landry III and K'Lavon Chaisson were the only Patriots defenders to tally more than four sacks in 2025 and neither managed to reach double digits.

A healthy Crosby would be a menace in head coach Mike Vrabel's defensive system. The Patriots already rated top-10 in total and No. 4 in scoring defense during the 2025 campaign. The unit could make a significant leap in 2026 with Crosby terrorizing opposing quarterbacks.

One potential roadblock preventing Crosby from joining the Pats is Tom Brady. While the bulk of Brady's legendary career played out in New England, he's now part-owner of the Raiders and doesn't seem interested in giving one of his club's best players to his former employer.

While New England seemed to have an initial interest in trading for Crosby, a source informed ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that there was "no way Tom was sending Maxx to Vrabel".

That report leaked out prior to Vegas' trade with Baltimore falling through, however, and things have changed drastically in the days since. The Raiders have now lost most of their leverage, making it foolish to dismiss New England's offer out of pocket if it's the best one on the table following the failed physical.

Chicago Bears

Las Vegas Raiders receive: Two 2026 second-round draft picks (Nos. 57 & 60), 2026 third-round draft pick (No. 89)

Chicago Bears receive: Edge Maxx Crosby

The Bears looked like one of the more likely landing spots for Crosby prior to the Raiders agreeing to a trade with Ravens. Now that Baltimore has backed out, Chicago has another chance to secure a franchise-altering edge rusher.

The Bears are coming off a promising first season under head coach Ben Johnson. The team improved from 5-12 to 11-6, won its first playoff game in 15 years and pushed the Los Angeles Rams to overtime in their Divisional matchup before falling short.

Chicago has serious Super Bowl aspirations going into 2026, but needs to upgrade the edge spot to combat the elite quarterbacks it will inevitably face in the postseason.

Crosby would provide a ton of juice to a defensive unit that struggled at times last year. The Bears ranked in the bottom-10 in both total and scoring defense while recording a meager 35 sacks in total—tying them for the seventh-worst mark in the league.

With Montez Sweat being the only Chicago defender to break the double-digit sack mark in 2025—and Gervon Dexter Sr. being the only other player to even eclipse five sacks—the Bears clearly need a player of Crosby's caliber to round out their defensive efforts.

The team failed to find an edge rusher on the open market  but could still change its fortunes by swinging a deal for Crosby. The Bears have the capital to get a deal done, boasting three selections in the top-60 and five of their seven total picks falling within the first four rounds.

Packaging together a few of those picks could be enough to entice the Raiders to move on from Crosby for a second time this offseason.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Las Vegas Raiders receive: 2026 second-round draft pick (No. 56), two 2026 third-round draft picks (Nos. 81 & 88), 2026 fifth-round draft pick (No. 166)

Jacksonville Jaguars receive: Edge Maxx Crosby

The Jaguars were one of the feel-good stories of the 2025 season, but their bounce-back campaign ended with another early playoff exit. With the franchise still seeking to make its first ever Super Bowl appearance, it may be time to make a drastic move.

According to The Athletic's James Palmer, the Jags had been engaged in trade talks with Las Vegas for Crosby, but Jacksonville's lack of a 2026 first-rounder kept the club from making a strong enough offer.

Now that Crosby is up for grabs again and potentially available at a reduced cost, the Jaguars could be right back in the mix for the superstar sack artist.

Jacksonville still doesn't have a first-rounder to offer this year, but the club does possess 11 total picks in the 2026 draft. Four of these selections fall within the top-100, making it conceivable for general manager James Gladstone to put together an alluring package.

The Jags fielded the league's top rush defense last year—giving up a league-best 85.6 yards per game and not allowing a single rusher to top the 75-yard mark—but struggled to stop opposing signal-callers. The team ranked in the bottom-12 for pass defense and only recorded 32 sacks on the year—the sixth-worst mark in football.

Jacksonville has had a relatively quiet start to the offseason. While the club retained Montaric Brown on a three-year, $33 million contract to stabilize the cornerback spot, it hasn't brought in any notable outside talent to improve the pass defense.

Acquiring Crosby would significantly move the needle and help Jacksonville take a much-needed leap in 2026.

Las Vegas Raiders receive: 2026 first-round draft pick (No. 20 overall)

Dallas Cowboys receive: Edge Maxx Crosby

The Cowboys were one of the main competitors in the first Crosby sweepstakes before getting edged out by the Ravens. They could be back in the running now that the edge rusher is once again up for grabs.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Dallas was willing to trade the No. 12 overall pick, a future second-rounder and veteran player to the Raiders in exchange for Crosby.

While there's almost no chance they would put that same offer back on the table following a failed physical, the Cowboys could capitalize on a rare chance to acquire a five-time Pro Bowler at a below-market cost.

There's been conflicting reports regarding Dallas' interest level in Crosby. According to the Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Cowboys "are not expected to re-engage" in trade talks, but the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that the team "would still be interested" in adding the superstar defender.

An intriguing wrinkle in this saga is the part Cowboys team physician Dr. Daniel Cooper played in Crosby's failed physical in Baltimore. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Dr. Cooper was amongst the doctors who reviewed Crosby's knee scans before the Ravens elected to back out.

Although there's clearly some internal worry regarding Crosby's knee, it would be hard for Dallas to pass up an opportunity to acquire the 28-year-old at a budget price.

Even after trading a fourth-round pick for veteran edge rusher Rashan Gary, the Cowboys would have to give serious consideration to forming what could potentially be the NFL's best pass-rushing unit by shipping some Day 2 capital over to the Raiders.

Philadelphia Eagles

Raiders Eagles Football

Las Vegas Raiders receive: 2026 first-round draft pick (No. 23 overall)

Philadelphia Eagles receive: Edge Maxx Crosby

The Eagles are still picking up the pieces from last year's failed title defense. The team has several issues to address this offseason, including a gaping hole on the edge following the departure of marquee trade deadline acquisition Jaelan Phillips.

With Phillips out of the picture, the Eagles once-vaunted pass rush is looking thinner than it has in some time. While Philly is reportedly working to lock down a foundational piece in the defensive trenches by negotiating a Jalen Carter extension, the team still has to find some outside help for the interior disruptor.

Crosby would be a perfect fit in the City of Brotherly Love. The team needs an elite pass-rushing talent to lead the defense, as no Eagles player notched more than 6.5 sacks last season. Haason Reddick's 11-sack effort in 2023 marked the most recent time a Philadelphia defender accumulated more than eight sacks in a season.

The Eagles still have other holes to patch on the defense after losing standouts like Nakobe Dean and Reed Blankenship, but signing Crosby would cover up plenty of weak points on this roster.

If the Raiders are willing to let Crosby go at a cheaper cost—perhaps Philly's No. 23 overall pick instead of the mid-first rounder and future Day 1 pick they initially would have received from Baltimore—it wouldn't be a surprise to see the superstar defender wind up in an Eagles uniform.
