'Very Much Bulls--t,' NFL GM Rips Ravens After Backing Out of Maxx Crosby Trade with Raiders

Andrew PetersMar 10, 2026

NFL general managers aren't fans of the Baltimore Ravens' decision to pull out of the Maxx Crosby trade with the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, one GM called the move "very much bulls--t on Baltimore's part."

The Ravens initially traded first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 to the Raiders last week in return for Crosby, one of the best pass rushers in the NFL. Las Vegas announced Tuesday that Baltimore had "backed out" of the deal.

While neither the Ravens nor the Raiders explained the decision, The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported that Crosby underwent a physical on Tuesday, and "Baltimore made the decision as an organization that it could not move forward with the deal based on the results of the medical."

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided more details, reporting that the Ravens felt Crosby wasn't worth two first-round picks and a high salary since he hasn't fully recovered from a torn meniscus from last season.

"If they want to pay Maxx Crosby his entire salary and two first-round picks, they might decide that—the knee, meniscus repair, not fully back—that it is not worth the risk," Rapoport said. "That is clearly the decision that the Baltimore Ravens have made. It is not unprecedented. It is incredibly, incredibly rare."

The Raiders have already spent $187 million in free agency, so they're likely in panic mode with Crosby's massive contract coming back on their books. A trade for Crosby isn't out of the equation, but Las Vegas likely won't get the same kind of return it got from Baltimore.
