Reebok Question Low 'Polka Dot' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price
While Allen Iverson has been out of the NBA spotlight for five years, Reebok is taking fans back to the past with a new version of the Question sneakers released on August 14.
The Question series began in 1996 when Iverson won NBA Rookie of the Year.
This new version of the sneaker, known as the "Polka Dot" and cut low, honors the nearly 20-year tradition of the shoe while putting a new spin on things.
Before diving into the look and design of the shoe, here's the release information to know:
Release Date: August 14
Location: Reebok Stores, Reebok.com and select shoe stores across the country
Price: $115
As far as how the shoes look, SneakerFiles.com provided a strong oblique-angle glimpse at what fans can expect:
The Question series started with a toe-cap overlay, which returns here after a brief hiatus following the Reebok Answer 14 last year.
However, just because Reebok wants to honor the beginning of the Question series, it's not above dipping into more recent ventures.
For instance, the lockdown lacing system that it used for the Reebok Q96 in 2013 makes a comeback here.
The good news is Reebok is making changes in other ways, as these photos at different angles from New Yak City show:
A key addition is leather on the sides acting as a mudguard, which also complements the gray color all around that makes the white polka dots pop off the shoe.
Reebok has been able to find a lot of mileage out of the Question series after a four-year hiatus from 2009-13. The "Polka Dot" is the third version to hit stores in the last two years.
It's a testament to the enduring popularity of Iverson, since he has been away from the NBA for five years, with Reebok helping to keep his legacy alive in sneaker form.
