Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown Reacts to Kalif Raymond's Bears Contract, 'Greatest Teammate I've Ever Had'
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown called Kalif Raymond the "greatest teammate I've ever had" after news broke that Raymond agreed to a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears.
Raymond and St. Brown joined the Lions together in 2021. Raymond had been in the NFL since 2016 at that point and landed with Detroit via free agency. The Lions had just selected St. Brown, a former USC standout, with a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft.

St. Brown, of course, has been a steal for the Lions after emerging as one of the best wide receivers in the league. He's posted a 17-game average of 112 receptions for 1,281 yards and nine touchdowns over five years. Breaking that down even further, ASB has posted an average of 117 catches for 1,393 yards and 11 touchdowns from 2023-2025.
Raymond has been a solid complementary receiver and returner for the Lions, posting 171 catches for 2,185 yards and eight touchdowns with Detroit since 2021. However, he did his best work as a punt returner, earning All-Pro Second Team honors in 2022 and 2024.
On the field, the Lions now need to find a new receiver and punt returner with Raymond heading to Chicago.
Raymond was the de-facto WR3, but one can figure that Isaac TeSlaa, who is entering his second year and made the most of limited opportunities (16 catches, 239 yards, six touchdowns), should have that role in 2026. Tom Kennedy saw time as receiver and punt returner as well. He is a restricted free agent.
Detroit can certainly find help in free agency and the draft, which begins April 23.
