Latest NFL Trade Rumors Uncover Potential Patrick Queen Landing Spots, Steelers' Asking Price

Adam WellsMar 10, 2026

Heading into the final season of his current contract, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen could find himself on the trade market.

Per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are among a "handful of teams" that have inquired about Queen's availability.

Harris added that the Steelers will likely seek a mid-round draft pick if they decide to trade Queen.

The Cowboys' linebacker room is in pretty dire straits right now. Logan Wilson, Kenneth Murray and Jack Sanborn are all free agents. Murray appeared in all 17 games last season, making 16 starts.

Wilson appeared in seven games after being acquired in a midseason trade with the Cincinnati Bengals, but he was released by the Cowboys last month. Sanborn only played in six games last season due to a groin injury.

There have been nine linebackers who agreed to deals on the first day of free agency, with the Cowboys not landing any of them.

The Eagles were a team that lost a linebacker in free agency when Nakobe Dean agreed to a three-year, $36 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Per NFL Network's Jane Slater, the Cowboys' pursuit of Queen "may have hit a snag" and they will "probably not" continue talks for him.

One potential issue for the Cowboys is the 2026 draft capital they have already used in trades. They gave up a first- and second-round pick to the New York Jets for Quinnen Williams during the season. Their 2026 third-rounder was used in the trade for George Pickens.

Dallas does have three fifth-round picks after being awarded two comp picks on Monday.

Queen is owed a $10.8 million base salary and has a $17.2 million cap hit in 2026. The 26-year-old has recorded at least 98 combined tackles in each of his first six seasons, including 120 in 2025.
