Ronda Rousey Rips UFC White House Card in Trending Post After Reveal and Praises Jake Paul's MVP
In promoting her upcoming fight with Gina Carano, Ronda Rousey also took a swipe at one of her former employers.
After Most Valuable Promotions announced Francis Ngannou would be returning to mixed martial arts on the same card as Rousey's bout, the former UFC women's bantamweight champion praised the upcoming show while criticizing UFC's card for the White House show.
UFC president Dana White announced the card for the White House show, officially dubbed UFC Freedom 250, on Saturday night with Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje for the lightweight championship in the main event.
While the card itself is strong, the amount of hype and build up for the reveal did leave fans wanting due to the lack of star power. Conor McGregor and Jon Jones were among those publicly vying for a spot on the show, but neither one was included in Saturday's announcement.
This isn't the first time Rousey has gone at a former employer publicly. She has not had many kind words to say about WWE since her second stint with the promotion ended in 2023.
Rousey and Carano are arguably the two biggest women's stars in mixed martial arts history, so their agreement to square off on May 16 has been met with a great deal of enthusiasm.
It will be the first fight for Rousey since December 2016 when she lost to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. Carano, who will turn 44 on April 16, hasn't stepped into the cage for a sanctioned MMA bout since losing to Cris Cyborg in 2009.
