According to ESPN's Brady Henderson, Walker received a three-year deal with a $43.05 million base value and $28.7 million fully guaranteed from the Chiefs, who entered the offseason with a major hole at the running back position.

The Super Bowl LX MVP, Walker starred for the Seattle Seahawks for the last four seasons, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark twice. He's known for his explosive plays, as he forced 61 missed tackles and recorded 10 rushes in which he gained 20 or more yards last season.

Chiefs left guard Kingsley Suamataia also expressed his excitement for Walker's arrival:

The Chiefs missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014 after finishing with a 6-11 record and losing Mahomes to a torn ACL. Kansas City is undoubtedly motivated to return to Super Bowl contention, and signing Walker is a step in the right direction.

Walker heading to Kansas City could alter the team's draft strategy. B/R's NFL Scouting Department predicted in its mock draft that the Chiefs would use the No. 9 pick to select Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love. The team could instead try to address another area of need with its first-round selection following the addition of Walker.
