Dodgers Announce Yoshi-Themed Yoshinobu Yamamoto Bobblehead in Photo Ahead of 2026 MLB Season

Paul KasabianMar 6, 2026

The Los Angeles Dodgers are honoring starting pitcher and 2025 World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto by giving away a Yoshi-themed bobblehead to fans for their March 31 home game against the Cleveland Guardians.

Yoshi, of course, is an iconic character in the Super Mario franchise. The promotion is presented by The Super Mario Brothers Galaxy Movie, which is being released on April 1.

Yamamoto is entering his third MLB season after previously starring in Japan. He's helped guide the Dodgers to a pair of World Series titles and most notably starred in the 2025 Fall Classic, allowing just two earned runs over 17.2 innings and winning three of the team's four games.

That included a complete game win in Game 2, six innings of one-run ball for a Game 6 victory and then 2.2 shutout innings one day later to finish out his team's Game 7 win in 11 innings.

Yamamoto is a Dodger legend forever now. He's also quite busy this spring while leading Team Japan's rotation in the World Baseball Classic as the squad looks for back-to-back titles and four overall. He's also the leading candidate to start for the Dodgers on Opening Day, which will go down on Thursday, March 26 vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks.
