Lamar Jackson Hinted at Ravens' Maxx Crosby Trade With Viral Meme Before Deal with Raiders
Baltimore Ravens superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson got the football world buzzing Friday with a cryptic post on X before the team reportedly traded for star defensive end Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders.
Jackson posted a GIF of Denzel Washington saying, "Boom," accompanied by a smiley face emoji, leading to speculation that the Ravens were perhaps on the verge of making a major acquisition:

Later on Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Crosby was being traded to the Ravens:
Baltimore is coming off a disappointing season that saw it go 8-9 and miss the playoffs for the first time since 2021.
The Ravens were viewed as Super Bowl contenders the previous two seasons, largely thanks to the play of Jackson and the offense, as Jackson won the NFL MVP Award in 2023 and finished second in 2024.
Jackson dealt with numerous injuries and missed four games last season, but even when he played, he only managed a 6-7 record.
In 13 starts, Jackson completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions, which was a far cry from the 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and four picks he amassed in 2024.
As a result of the Ravens' shortcomings in 2025, longtime head coach John Harbaugh was fired and replaced by Jesse Minter. The Ravens also lost offensive coordinator Todd Monken, who was hired as the Cleveland Browns' new head coach.
With Crosby now on board, the Ravens certainly have a bright future ahead.
