In keeping with tradition, Puerto Rico is going blond for the World Baseball Classic.

"Team Rubio" dates back to 2017, when stars Francisco Lindor and Javier Báez dyed their hair blond for the World Baseball Classic. A lot of their teammates joined in, and it became such a staple that Puerto Rico fans set a record in 2023 for the most hair dyed at one time.
Ten-time Gold Glove winner Nolan Arenado will represent the country in this year's WBC, and he understood everything that entailed:
Puerto Rico opens the tournament on Friday against Colombia on home soil at Hiram Bithorn Stadium.
The team was slotted into Pool A, which also includes Canada, Cuba and Panama.
