New Maxx Crosby Trade Rumors Reveal Raiders' Updated Stance on Deal amid Bears Links

Joseph ZuckerMar 5, 2026

Interested suitors are believing the Las Vegas Raiders "are more open to the idea" of dealing star defensive end Maxx Crosby, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported Wednesday that teams felt the Raiders' position on Crosby was motivated in part by preferring a "Micah Parsons-type trade to facilitate the deal." He also listed the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys as teams that could pursue the five-time Pro Bowler.

Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson appeared to hint at some interest from his team on Thursday, as well:

Last offseason, fans spent a lot of time hypothesizing trades involving Myles Garrett, only for the Cleveland Browns star to sign a massive extension with the team.

However, Crosby's relationship may have reached a breaking point, with Michael Silver of The Athletic reporting Wednesday he's "expected to be traded in the coming days or weeks."

The way the 2025 season unfolded for the Browns might also convince Crosby more and more he needs a change of scenery.

Garrett is making $40 million annually from Cleveland, and he set the single-season sack record en route to winning Defensive Player of the Year. His team missed the playoffs once again, though, and doesn't look any closer to contending in 2026.

Crosby has suffered through a lot of losing in Las Vegas. With so many areas of the roster to address, the Raiders are probably building more for 2027 and beyond than trying to chase a postseason berth.

If winning a Super Bowl or simply tasting playoff football is the goal, then his best shot is outside of Sin City.

The Cowboys received two first-round picks from the Green Bay Packers when they traded Parsons last summer. Expecting to get that kind of haul for Crosby is unrealistic when he's two years older and hasn't matched Parsons' overall impact as a pass-rusher and run defender.

One first-rounder would at least help to accelerate the Raiders' rebuild, and Jones reported a team may be willing to meet that price.
