Latest Anthony Richardson Trade Rumors Ahead of NFL Draft, What Colts QB Wants in Next Team
The Indianapolis Colts have continued to hold trade talks with multiple opposing teams regarding quarterback Anthony Richardson ahead of the 2026 NFL draft, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.
"Those talks have continued this weekend with several teams, I'm told, talking with the Colts about getting Richardson," Wolfe reported Tuesday (2:30 mark). "The biggest thing here is compensation. It's not going to be a huge price, but you gotta figure out in a unique situation how much for a talented young player who is entering the end of his first-round contract. So, no timeline on a decision. Both teams trying to find the right fit. I reported last week Minnesota one of those teams, not the only team. There's going to be more mixes there."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While Richardson is looking for the opportunity to compete for a starting job on his next team, he's also open to operating in a reserve role on a squad with a proficient coach.
"As far as Richardson's team, they talked about what is important for him," Wolfe reported (3:12 mark). "Yes, he would love to play. But more importantly, they want to find a coach who will consistently develop him and his skillset. Help him be the player that he can ultimately be. He's willing to sit behind a veteran with a strong coach if that's what it ultimately means."
The Colts gave Richardson permission to seek a trade on Feb. 26.
The No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft was limited to just four starts as a rookie due to injuries before appearing in 11 games during his second season.
Richardson completed 47.7 percent of his passes for 1,814 yards and eight touchdowns compared to 12 interceptions. The 23-year-old eventually lost a training camp battle for Indianapolis' starting quarterback position to Daniel Jones ahead of his 2025 campaign.
Still, Richardson's arm strength and age make him an intriguing option on the trade market.
He's already been linked to the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings.
The Colts could attempt to finalize a swap involving Richardson before the 2026 NFL draft, which begins on April 23.
