NFL Rumors Link Malik Willis, Jimmy Garoppolo, Mac Jones to Dolphins Amid Tua Buzz
A handful of quarterbacks have emerged in the Miami Dolphins' quest to find a new quarterback this offseason.
Per the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson, the Dolphins have "interest" in free agent quarterback Malik Willis, and veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is also on the team's "radar."
Jackson added that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Mac Jones has Miami's "respect."

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Willis is likely the top quarterback on the free agent market aside from Daniel Jones, who was transition tagged by the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday. Thanks to his standing in a relatively weak free agency class, Willis could earn a big payday. NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported last week that it's a "foregone conclusion" that Willis will get $30 million or more per year.
Whether the Dolphins are willing to pay that much is unclear, as Jackson reported Miami's interest in Willis is "only at a certain unknown price point." It also might be difficult for the Dolphins to commit to Willis since he doesn't have much starting experience under his belt.
The former third-round pick struggled during his time with the Tennessee Titans, but was solid for Green Bay over the past two years, throwing for 972 yards and six touchdowns with a 78.8 completion percentage while backing up Jordan Love.
Garoppolo spent the last two years with the Los Angeles Rams, where he didn't play much behind star quarterback Matthew Stafford. The last season in which he had significant playing time, 2023, saw him throw for 1,205 yards, seven touchdowns and nine interceptions in seven games.
The 34-year-old would presumably be an affordable option as Miami enters a transition period.
Jones perhaps turned some heads with his performance in 2025. While filling in for an injured Brock Purdy, he threw for 2,151 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions, leading San Francisco to a 5-3 record as the starter.
Jones subsequently boosted his trade value, so much so that the Dolphins may not be willing to spend big on him.
