
Diana Taurasi's Mercury Jersey Retirement, Ring of Honor Date Announced in Video
The Phoenix Mercury announced that the team will retire Diana Taurasi's uniform number and induct her into the Mercury Ring of Honor during a matchup with the Portland Fire on Aug. 16.
Mercury legends as well as Taurasi's former teammates, coaches and family will be in attendance for the ceremony.

"For two decades, Diana set the standard for what it means to win, compete and lead at the highest level, doing it in a way that was uniquely hers," Mercury governor Mat Ishbia said as part of Tuesday's announcement. "We look forward to celebrating her legendary career as we raise her name and number to the rafters."
Taurasi spent her entire WNBA career in Phoenix from 2004 through 2024 before retiring in Feb. 2025. One month later, the team announced plans to retire her No. 3 jersey during the 2026 season.
She earned 11 All-Star nods and three championships with the Mercury, receiving MVP honors for the 2009 season.
Taurasi is the WNBA's all-time leading scorer and sits at No. 4 on the league's all-time assists leaderboard.
She averaged 18.8 points, 4.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 42.5 percent from the field and 36.0 percent from three-point territory throughout her legendary career.
