Adam Schefter Reveals How He Broke NHL News of Artemi Panarin Trade from Rangers to Kings
ESPN insider Adam Schefter may have recently revealed some of his sources to New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes.
Schefter said in a Tuesday appearance on the Pat McAfee Show that Hughes had recently asked him how he'd ended up breaking the news that Artemi Panarin had been traded from the New York Rangers to the Los Angeles Kings in February.
The ESPN insider said he showed Hughes how he'd received the news without communicating with Panarin's agent.

"I showed Jack Hughes the full, exact text chain... stories often, and usually, don't come from where people think," Schefter said.
Schefter, who is best known for breaking NFL news, credited himself and ESPN's Emily Kaplan with breaking the Feb. 4 story that Panarin had been traded.
Panarin signed a two-year, $22 million contract with the Kings shortly after the deal.
There might be more Rangers trades to break for Schefter or other insiders to weigh in on before the NHL trade window closes Friday at 3 p.m. ET. Veteran center Vincent Trocheck and defenseman Braden Schneider are two potential candidates to be moved ahead of the deadline.
Trocheck, who has a 12-team no-trade clause, recently confirmed he wants to stay on the East Coast and play for a Stanley Cup contender if he is moved later this week.
