New NFL Rumors on Jalen Ramsey, Roman Wilson's Steelers Futures Ahead of 2026 Free Agency
The Pittsburgh Steelers see cornerback Jalen Ramsey and wide receiver Roman Wilson as part of their 2026 plans, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor.
Ramsey was a Pro Bowler for the eighth time this past year, but there's no disputing his game has fallen off a bit from his All-Pro peak with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams.
According to Pro Football Reference, quarterbacks completed 70.4 percent of their throws and had a 118.1 passer rating when targeting the veteran defensive back. He also allowed seven touchdowns, which is more than a quarter of his career total (25).

Every Team's Ideal 1st-Round Pick 👌
When Ramsey still has three years left on his $84.7 million contract, it wouldn't be a total shock if Pittsburgh preferred a separation.
The same is broadly true for Wilson when he had such a limited impact in his second season. He caught 12 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns, and he was absent in entirely for five of the Steelers' six games, including their playoff loss to the Houston Texans.
Still, general manager Omar Khan stated his continued belief in the 2024 third-round pick at the NFL Scouting Combine.
"I think Roman's a talented player and I expect him to contribute," he told reporters. "I know the coaching staff is excited to work with him. And his rookie year, you know he got hurt and that was a little bit of a setback. And last year, the opportunities didn't come, I think, like everybody would've liked, but I think he's got a good future."
Pittsburgh has plenty of offseason needs heading into free agency and the NFL draft. Pryor reported that "fortifying the secondary" is likely going to be the biggest objective on the defensive side.
The risk in trading Ramsey or Wilson is that it might create more gaps to fill in the roster.
