New NFL Draft Rumors on Ty Simpson, Drew Allar, Carson Beck and Steelers amid Aaron Rodgers Buzz
The Pittsburgh Steelers are creating contingency plans at the quarterback position, given the possibility that Aaron Rodgers either retires this offseason or after the 2026 campaign.
According to The Athletic's Mike DeFabo, the team met with Alabama's Ty Simpson, Penn State's Drew Allar and Miami's Carson Beck during the NFL Scouting Combine this past weekend and "all three had positive meetings."
He added, however, that "my sense is that the limited on-field experience [for Simpson] will factor strongly into the Steelers' evaluation."

Beck, meanwhile, had a "strong on-field workout" and could be a sleeper option for the Steelers further down the board.
The ideal scenario for the Steelers is Rodgers returning for one last season, allowing the team to groom a draft pick from April for a year under the veteran quarterback. If Rodgers departs, however, Pittsburgh is going to need to enter the free agency market at the position as well.
