Spencer Fano Shines
It's safe to say Utah's Spencer Fano was a top-caliber prospect coming into the combine, and that didn't change Sunday.
According to the latest big board from B/R's NFL Scouting Department, Fano is the No. 13 overall player and top offensive tackle in the draft. He is also ranked as the best run-blocker, best pass-blocker and most versatile of the offensive tackles.
And he apparently has the speed to back it up based on Sunday's 40-yard dash performance:
It was more than just the 40-yard dash time that stood out:
At this point, it would be anything but surprising if Fano is a top-10 pick.
B/R's NFL Scouting Department projected him as the No. 3 overall pick in its most recent mock draft, and the scouting report highlighted his overall athleticism and quickness while evaluating him as the top offensive tackle prospect.
Those abilities stood out Sunday as he posted a head-turning showing at the combine.
Gennings Dunker's Hair Steals the Show
Iowa's Gennings Dunker was an All-Big Ten selection this past season, but it wasn't just his football skills that stood out Sunday.
It was also his hair, which was flying around as he ran the 40-yard dash:
B/R's NFL Scouting Department ranked him as the ninth-best interior offensive lineman and praised his "knock-back power upon contact that can jar second-level targets and knock them off of their feet" in a scouting report.
He certainly made an impression Sunday:
Whichever team drafts him could have a fan favorite on its hands during his rookie season.
Markel Bell Cruises
Miami's Markel Bell checked in at 6'9" and 346 pounds, which are numbers that should help him overpower defensive linemen even at the NFL level.
They also aren't numbers conducive to speed, but someone forgot to tell Bell that:
Bell is the No. 5 overall offensive tackle on the big board from B/R's NFL Scouting Department, but he could be moving up those boards after showing off some of his athleticism at that size.
