Jeremiyah Love Says He's Heard Giants, Chiefs, Saints as Potential 2026 NFL Draft Landing Spots
Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love provided some insight Saturday into where he could potentially land in the 2026 NFL draft.
Speaking to reporters at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Love named three teams picking inside the top 10 as teams that could possibly take him, saying, "I don't know, maybe top 10, top five, hopefully. I heard a lot [of] people saying the Chiefs or the Saints or the Giants. I mean, all I gotta say is, I'd be blessed to go anywhere."
Love is regarded by most as the top running back and one of the top overall players in the 2026 draft. The BR NFL Scouting Department ranked Love as the third overall player in the class as part of its most recent big board, behind only Ohio State safety Caleb Downs and Miami pass-rusher Rueben Bain Jr.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Over his final two collegiate seasons at Notre Dame, Love put up massive numbers and established himself as one of the best players in the nation.
In 2024, he rushed for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns, while catching 28 passes for 237 yards and two scores. He followed that up with 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns on the ground to go along with 27 grabs for 280 yards and three more touchdowns last season.
The 20-year-old was a unanimous All-American and the winner of the Doak Walker Award as the top running back in the country last season, plus he finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.
Love perhaps improved his stock even more at the combine on Saturday by running the 40-yard dash in an impressive 4.36 seconds:
Several teams picking early in the 2026 NFL draft could use a running back of Love's caliber, and he named three of them that could make a great deal of sense.
On Friday, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported that there has been talk at the combine of the Giants being interested in a big-time running back, and Love was among those mentioned.
The Giants have the No. 5 overall pick in the draft, and while they got some great production out of rookie fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo last season, Skattebo's rookie season was cut short due to an open tibia fracture, ruptured deltoid ligament and right ankle dislocation.
Longtime former Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was hired as the Giants' new head coach, and Raanan noted that "there seems to be a clear focus on becoming a more physical, run-heavy team" in New York since his arrival.
As for the Chiefs and Saints, both teams struggled to run the ball and had injury concerns in their backfields last season as well.
The Chiefs, who are picking ninth, ranked 25th in the NFL last season with 106.6 yards per game, which contributed to them finishing 6-11 and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Coming off a torn ACL, quarterback Patrick Mahomes would benefit greatly from a high-end running game, and Love could potentially provide it.
However, the Saints are set to pick one slot ahead of the Chiefs at No. 8, and they arguably have just as big of a need at running back.
New Orleans ranked 28th with 94.3 rushing yards per game last season, and running back Alvin Kamara missed six games due to injury.
With the 30-year-old veteran potentially nearing the end of his career—or at least the end of his time as an unquestioned starter—he could pass the torch to the next superstar running back in Love.
