Jeremiyah Love Teases Chiefs Interest, 'Would Be an Honor' to Play with Patrick Mahomes
Having been connected to the Kansas City Chiefs in early pre-draft prognostications, Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love would welcome the opportunity if it comes along.
Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show, Love said "it would be an honor" to join the Chiefs and play with Patrick Mahomes when asked about the possibility of being drafted by the club.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
There are any number of directions that the Chiefs, who own the No. 9 overall pick, can go coming off their worst season since 2012. They are selecting in the top 10 for the first time in 13 years, not counting 2017 when they traded up 17 spots to select Mahomes with the 10th pick.
Love has been mocked to them by some prominent NFL analysts, including Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN.
Running back is certainly one of the positions that the Chiefs need help. Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt are both set to hit free agency. Even with that duo leading the rushing attack, the Chiefs finished 25th in rushing yards last season.
B/R's NFL scouting department has Love ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in the 2026 draft class. His strengths include patience, vision and receiving ability that allows him to be "deployed in the slot and run routes in space to create mismatches for the offense."
Given the lack of top-tier passing-catching options Mahomes has had for the past two years, adding a dynamic running back who can also double as a receiver would be like bringing in two players in one for Andy Reid's offense.
The Chiefs have been burned by first-round running backs in the not-too-distant past with Clyde Edwards-Helaire in 2020 that might make them reluctant to go back to that well, especially with so many other positions they need to address.
But there is also the enticing possibility of putting Love in the same backfield as Mahomes to take pressure off the three-time Super Bowl MVP as he works his way back from a torn ACL.
Love finished third in Heisman voting with Notre Dame last season. He had 1,372 yards, 280 receiving yards and 21 total touchdowns in 12 games.
