Jack Hughes' Game-Winning Puck Located After USA's Gold-Medal Win vs. Canada in Olympic Final
The puck New Jersey Devils star Jack Hughes used to score the United States' first Olympic men's hockey gold medal-clinching goal in 46 years is reportedly in the hands of Toronto's Hockey Hall of Fame.
According to Sportico's Justin Birnbaum, a spokesperson for the International Ice Hockey Federation said the puck was "immediately secured after the game ended" and documented by both the IIHF and the Hall of Fame.
"The puck was designated for archival preservation with the HHOF to ensure its long-term safekeeping and historical recognition," the spokesperson told Birnbaum.

Hughes originally told NHL on TNT after the game he had "no idea" where the puck went after he scored 1:41 into overtime last Sunday in Milan.
The goal allowed the United States to secure a 2-1 win against Canada and the country's first men's hockey gold medal since 1980.
"Honestly, I have no idea where that puck went," Hughes said on Thursday. "I know who doesn't have it is me, because I sure as hell don't have it. But I have no idea where it went."
According to Birnbaum, auction houses provided a wide range of estimates as to how much the puck would be worth were it to hit the open market.
Heritage Auctions estimated its value at $20,000 to $40,000, while Goldin estimated $100,000 and Steiner Sports pegged it at $500,000, according to Birnbaum.
The Hockey Hall of Fame is still missing a key piece of memorabilia from the last time the American men's hockey team won Olympic gold.
The location of the puck that Mike Eruzione used to score the game-winning goal against the Soviet Union during the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics is not currently known.
The puck was reportedly caught by a fan in the stands and later sold multiple times, but never ended up in the HHOF.
Hughes' memorabilia isn't the only golden goal puck in possession by the HHOF, however. The puck Sidney Crosby used to lift Canada to overtime victory against the United States during the 2010 Vancouver Olympics is featured in the Hall of Fame, alongside Team USA's net and Crosby's stick and gloves.
