Brady Tkachuk Recalls Getting Drug-Tested After USA Won Gold Medal Over Canada at 2026 Olympics

Brady Tkachuk says he was pulled for a drug test in the middle of the United States men's hockey team's locker room celebration following their gold medal win over Canada during the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics.

Tkachuk talked about the incident, which he said took place after a media scrum in the Milan locker room on Sunday, around the 1:04:45 mark of Thursday's episode of Wingmen with Matthew and Brady Tkachuk, a Wave original.

"I'm like f--k yeah, let's go have some beers and party," Brady said. "I get a tap on the shoulder. 'Hello Brady, you've been selected for a drug test.'"

The drug tester then waited while Brady celebrated with the team until the test could be conducted, according to Matthew.

"How this works for the drug testing is like, 'Brady, take your time, I'm not rushing you to go piss right now. But like I will be just standing by you where I can see you until you have to go,'" Matthew said.

"So, we're in the locker room partying and Brady's buddy, you know, little Johnny the drug tester, is like just sitting in the corner like just, you know, arms crossed and just watching us have the greatest time."

The International Olympic Committee has been working since 1999 with the the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to enforce rules prohibiting performance-enhancing drugs at the Olympics.

During the 2026 Olympics in Italy, a goal from the New Jersey Devils' Jack Hughes 1:41 into overtime made the difference for Team USA in a 2-1 win over Canada on Sunday.

That victory marked the first Olympic gold medal for the U.S. men's hockey team in 46 years, as well as the first time both the American men's and women's hockey team claimed Olympic gold in the same tournament.

The Tkachuk brothers and other members of the men's hockey team celebrated in Milan, Miami and Washington D.C. before returning to their respective teams as regular season play resumed Wednesday.
