Arvell Reese at 2026 NFL Combine Measurements, Highlights and Reaction
Ohio State edge-rusher and linebacker Arvell Reese is one of the most intriguing players heading into this year's NFL draft. On Thursday, he gave teams a chance to get a better idea of his measurables and athleticism during the NFL Scouting Combine.
And yes, he can scoot:

Officially, Reese's best time in the 40-yard dash was 4.46 seconds, with a 10-yard split of 1.58 seconds. Here's a look at his measurements, with the edge-rusher standing 6'4" and weighing 241 pounds:
There have been some questions about whether Reese will end up as an off-ball linebacker or coming off the edge, but he sees himself more in the latter role.
"Teams have pretty much been asking me what I want to do and see where my mind was at. I've been telling them I think I'm an outside linebacker/edge," he told reporters Wednesday. "I haven't even scratched the surface with really what I can do pass rushing."
He'll be a strong contender to be the No. 2 selection, with Fernando Mendoza all but guaranteed to be the top overall pick to the Las Vegas Raiders (or to a team willing to pay a fortune to trade up to No. 1). The New York Jets traded edge-rusher Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans on Thursday for defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat, creating a huge need for a dynamic pass-rusher.
Reese should be among the candidates for that selection. The B/R NFL Scouting Department ranked him as the No. 6 overall prospect on its latest big board. Among pass-rushers, only Miami's Rueben Bain Jr. is ranked higher (No. 2).
As B/R's Matt Holder wrote, "Reese is the most physically impressive linebacker in the 2026 draft class. Whether he falls into a hybrid role or converts to being a full-time edge defender, the former Buckeye has a bright future as an impact defender in the NFL."
That potential versatility will naturally draw comparisons to Micah Parsons, who went from being an off-ball linebacker to one of the most feared pass-rushers in the sport. That's a huge bar to clear, of course, but Reese has the athletic profile to be a difference-maker at the next level.
He showed that much on Thursday.
