New Tyreek Hill Rumors on Chiefs Return After Andy Reid's Comments amid Injury Recovery
The Kansas City Chiefs plan to keep tabs on Tyreek Hill as the free-agent wide receiver works his way back from a major knee injury, according to ESPN's Nate Taylor.
Taylor reported Monday the team is "expected to monitor the progress of his recovery and training."
The Chiefs have never fully replaced Hill after trading him to the Miami Dolphins in 2022. They managed to win a pair of Super Bowl titles without him, but the passing game has lacked the vertical threat the eight-time Pro Bowler provided.

With the Dolphins releasing Hill to kick off a wider reset, Kansas City has a straightforward path to a reunion if the team wants it.
Coach Andy Reid was noncommittal about the idea when addressing the possibility last week:
Signing Hill to a short-term contract would be a sensible gamble, though the Chiefs are projected to be $14.4 million over the salary cap. General manager Brett Veach has to be judicious with his personnel moves because he doesn't have a lot of flexibility.
In addition, there are obvious concerns about how good Hill can be after he dislocated his knee and tore his ACL. How much of his trademark speed and explosion off the line remains?
The 31-year-old's production was already trending in the wrong direction as well. His 959 receiving yards in 2024 were a steep decline after he led the NFL in the category (1,799 yards) a season earlier.
Through his first four appearances in 2025, Hill was averaging 66.3 yards per contest and 12.6 yards per catch, which were both below his career marks.
The 5'10" wideout will carry some risk for whatever team signs him. In the case of the Chiefs, pursuing him may not preclude Veach from also targeting longer-term solutions.
