After the game, Judge referenced the "unfinished business" the Yankees are looking to handle after falling short in the playoffs last year against the Toronto Blue Jays.
"We've got the WBC coming up, which I'm excited about, and an exciting Yankees season," Judge said after the game, per the Associated Press. "We've got a lot of unfinished business from last season, especially the way it ended for us. I'm just trying to put myself in the best position to help this team win a lot of ballgames."
Last season, the Yankees won 94 games, the same as 2024, when the team won the AL East and made the World Series. A 94-68 record couldn't land them the division title this time, though, as Toronto had the same mark and won the division on the head-to-head tiebreaker. The two teams met in the American League Division Series, where Toronto scored 34 runs en route to a four-game win.
The Yankees are more or less running it back with the same team in 2026. Judge leads the way again after dominating the league with a .331 batting average, 1.144 OPS and 215 OPS+, all of which led MLB. He also amassed 53 home runs and 114 RBI.
Judge has a busy spring ahead representing Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, and the regular season will begin soon enough when the Yankees visit the San Francisco Giants on March 25.
