Manchester United Transfer News: Gareth Bale Blow, Latest Pedro Rumours
Manchester United's hopes of signing Real Madrid's Gareth Bale seem to be dead in the water after the Welshman committed his future to the Spanish club following a 2-0 pre-season victory over Tottenham on Tuesday.
The Red Devils have been widely linked with a huge move for Bale this summer and reportedly have made two bids for the former Spurs man in the region of £100 million, per Antony Kastrinakis in the Sun.
However, it seems that Bale's future lies at the Bernabeu, at least in the short term, after the 26-year-old committed himself to winning trophies with Los Blancos in the coming season, per the Daily Mail's Mike Keegan: "I am confident. It’s great to have the support of the manager and the president and hopefully I can repay them now with some goals and trophies."

Bale had a slightly lacklustre second season with Real in 2014-15 and received a great deal of fan criticism for perceived underperformance.
He still managed to net 13 La Liga goals and provide nine assists, per WhoScored.com. He scored against former club Spurs on Tuesday as well, and an in-form Bale could propel Rafael Benitez's Real to a La Liga title in the coming season, per World Soccer Shop:

However, Bale will not be helping United in their bid to win the Premier League in the coming term, so Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal will have to look elsewhere for his next superstar.
United have conducted some good business so far in the summer transfer window and have added great strength to their midfield, per Bleacher Report's Sam Tighe:
They are still lacking in the strike department, though, and although Bale is not an out-and-out front man, he could have brought much-needed goals to Old Trafford.
Pedro Assured of Starting Spot
Barcelona's Pedro could be the man to bring in the goals for United next season and he has reportedly been guaranteed a starting spot by Van Gaal in an attempt to lure him away from the Camp Nou.
The Spaniard is widely expected to leave Barca for Old Trafford in the current transfer window having been sidelined in recent times due to the presence of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi at the Catalan giants.
Pedro has a release clause of £22 million, and Van Gaal has offered him a starting role in a front three alongside Wayne Rooney and Memphis Depay should he make the switch, per the Telegraph's Mark Ogden.
Creatively, Pedro would be a fine addition at Old Trafford, and his potential partnership with Rooney and Depay is an exciting prospect, per Sky Sports News HQ:
Per Ogden, United are expected to launch a bid for the 28-year-old once Angel Di Maria's departure to Paris Saint-Germain has been completed.
Pedro's move to Manchester is seemingly a formality, although Barca boss Luis Enrique is eager to keep him at the Camp Nou, per Ogden: "I want him to stay. If there are changes, that will be down to the player."
However, the guarantee of first-team football will surely be enough to lure Pedro away, as he has been playing second fiddle to Barca's superlative attacking trio for some time now, and that is unlikely to change should he stay on in Catalonia.
