Tyreek Hill Posts Cryptic Photo Amid Chiefs Contract Rumors in NFL FA After Dolphins Release

Free-agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill could return to the Kansas City Chiefs, the team that he spent the first six years of his career with.

On Wednesday, Hill posted an image of himself in Kansas City on Snapchat while changing his profile picture to himself wearing his old Chiefs uniform.

Hill's former teammate, Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, previously appeared to recruit him on X after he was released by the Miami Dolphins on Monday.

The Dolphins saved $22.8 million against the salary cap by cutting ties with Hill, via ESPN's Adam Schefter.

He appeared in just four games last season before suffering a dislocated left knee and multiple torn ligaments, including the ACL, in a Miami victory over the New York Jets on Sept. 21.

Hill contemplated retirement after the injury, but the 31-year-old announced his plans to return for the 2026 season in a Monday post on Instagram.

The Chiefs could potentially be his next landing spot, as they're looking to bounce back from a 2025 campaign in which they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

Kansas City couldn't find a consistent wideout to pair with Patrick Mahomes, as tight end Travis Kelce was the only player to eclipse 600 receiving yards last season.

While Hill may not be able to replicate the production from his first Chiefs tenure in which he amassed 6,630 receiving yards and earned six Pro Bowl nods, he could still provide a boost to their passing attack.

Although Kansas City's level of interest in a reunion is unknown, Hill has still returned to his old stomping grounds.
