'I Knew It Was a TD,' Caleb Williams Reflects on Viral Bears Play in Rams Playoff Game on Video
Caleb Williams was never lacking for confidence in the biggest moments this past season, including when he unleashed an unbelievable touchdown pass that forced overtime in the Chicago Bears' NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.
"In those moments, a lot of times when I'm scrambling, I mean there's no thought," Williams said during a discussion with Maxx Crosby on The Rush (36:40 mark). "โฆ I wasn't thinking anything until that moment. โฆ When I let it go, I knew it was a touchdown."

The memorable play came on fourth down in the final 30 seconds with Chicago trailing by seven and quickly went awry when he had to sprint back nearly 30 yards and close to midfield before throwing a perfectly placed ball to Cole Kmet in the corner of the end zone.
He even had head coach Ben Johnson questioning what was happening.
"Ben has a clip from watching from behind Ben," Williams said (34-minute mark). "And Ben, he's watching me. And he goes, he like tilts his head back. I already know in his mind, he's like, 'What the f--k is he doing? Why the f--k?'"
While the Bears ultimately lost in overtime, delivering a memorable moment with the game on the line was business as usual for the second-year quarterback.
After all, he led seven game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime during the 2025 campaign, which was a major reason the Bears won the NFC North and advanced to the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Crosby was certainly familiar with the Chicago magic this season, as his Las Vegas Raiders lost to the NFC North team by a single point because of a blocked field goal at the end of the game.
None of the Bears' comebacks were more memorable than their victories over the rival Green Bay Packers. They overcame a 10-point deficit in the final two minutes of regulation before Williams found DJ Moore for a deep-ball touchdown in overtime to win the Week 16 matchup and then scored 25 points in the fourth quarter alone to overcome a 21-6 deficit in the playoff win.
But no individual play was more astounding than the one against the Rams, even if it came in defeat.
