Hill, who suffered a season-ending dislocated knee and torn ACL last season, was cut by the Dolphins on Monday, a move that saved the team $22.8 million against the salary cap.
His release was widely expected, but whether Hill planned to continue playing after the 2025 season was up for debate. While he hinted in October that he was contemplating retirement, he confirmed Monday that he's not ready to call it a career.
"The Cheetah will be back," he wrote on his Instagram.
Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, echoed Hill's sentiment and added that the veteran wide receiver is "progressing well" in his rehab.
Hill's time with the Chiefs was successful as he helped them win a Super Bowl in 2019, but it's fair to wonder whether he'll be the same player he was before after his brutal injury last year.
Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter after Hill's injury that the goal was for him to be ready for the start of the 2026 season, but it's unclear whether that timeline has changed. Hill also gave an update on his injury last week.
"I'm feeling good. I mean, I'm walking with no brace on right now," he told Skyler Caruso of People. "I'm in my second week of walking with no brace, so I'm proud of that. So I'm feeling good."
Whether the Chiefs have any interest in Hill is unknown, but at least one member of the team wants to see him back in Kansas City.
