Yankees' Aaron Judge Gives Update on Elbow Injury After Medical Staff 'Ran All the Checks Again'
New York Yankees fans can breathe a sigh of relief because Aaron Judge's elbow is "feeling great" at the start of spring training.
That is what he told reporters Monday, adding that he hasn't experienced "any issues so far" after he dealt with a flexor tendon strain in his right elbow at times during the 2025 campaign.

The slugger also revealed the team's training and medical staff "ran all their checks again" after telling him at the end of last season he wouldn't need surgery, per Brendan Kuty of The Athletic. "They said, 'You're good to go,' and I said, 'All right, when can I start throwing?' It was good."
While Judge still appeared in 152 games last season, he played just 95 of them in the outfield because he couldn't throw effectively with his elbow injury. He was the team's designated hitter in the other contests.
The elbow concerns didn't stop him from turning in an excellent season, as he slashed .331/.457/.688 with 53 home runs, 114 RBI, 124 walks, 137 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. He led the league in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, walks, runs scored and wins above replacement (9.7), per Baseball Reference.
He took home his third American League MVP in the last four seasons as a result, further cementing himself as one of the best players in the game.
At this point, there is no reason to expect anything but continued excellence for Judge during the 2026 campaign. After all, he put up those numbers last season while dealing with elbow issues and now has a clean bill of health with an entire year ahead of him.
The biggest question is whether Judge can lead the Yankees to the World Series title.
A championship is the only thing missing from his illustrious resume, although New York has come close with eight playoff appearances during his career. One of those playoff appearances ended in the 2024 World Series when the Yankees lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
If they are going to take the next step and take home the sport's ultimate trophy, they will need Judge healthy and leading the way this season.
