NFL Wins Grievance Against NFLPA 'Team Report Cards,' Future Results Won't Be Made Public

The NFL won its grievance against the NFL Players Association this week, meaning information from the annual team report cards will no longer be made public.

In a memo, the league informed all 32 teams that an arbitrator ruled publishing the team report cards was a violation of the collective bargaining agreement by the NFLPA:

Since 2023, the NFLPA has polled players across the league and tasked them with grading their teams in several different categories. The results were then posted on the NFLPA website for all to see.

In the wake of the ruling, the NFLPA told Jonathan Jones of NFL on CBS that the team will continue to do the survey but won't make the results public.

The NFL released a statement on the arbitrator's ruling, noting that while the league is "pleased" with the decision, it is also "committed to working in partnership with the NFLPA and an independent survey company to develop and administer a scientifically valid survey."

In November, ESPN's Seth Wickersham and Don Van Natta Jr. obtained documents in which the NFL alleged that the team report cards violated the CBA due to their public criticism of teams.

Despite the grievance, the NFLPA informed players that it intended to move forward with the 2026 survey in November, however, the results are now barred from being made public based on the arbitrator's decision.

In the most recent survey published last year, players graded their teams on a scale of A+ to F- in 11 different categories: treatment of families, food/dining area, nutritionist/dietician, locker room, training room, training staff, weight room, strength coaches, team travel, head coach and ownership.

Each team received an overall final ranking, and specifics were provided in some categories regarding why players graded the way they did.

The Miami Dolphins graded out the best last year, while the Arizona Cardinals came in 32nd.
