Seahawks' Jake Bobo Talks Playing Super Bowl After Hand Surgery, Stitches Removed Day Before Game
Jake Bobo wasn't about to let hand surgery stop him from playing in the Super Bowl.
As ESPN's Brady Henderson relayed Monday, the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver played in his team's 29-13 victory over the New England Patriots on Sunday despite undergoing the surgery and having a pin inserted into his hand fewer than two weeks prior to kickoff:

Bobo said he "got the stitches out yesterday and was ready to go."
He also said he didn't miss any practices and credited the team's training staff for helping him take the field.
"I'm in a unique situation where I can't really miss any practice because I wanted to play in this game," Bobo explained. "There were a few catches this week that kinda took my breath away, but for this moment, all worth it."
The comments came after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported shortly before Sunday's kickoff that Bobo suffered the injury during the NFC Championship Game win over the Los Angeles Rams.
The 27-year-old ended up playing 35 snaps between the offense and special teams in the Super Bowl, although he wasn't a statistical contributor with zero catches. He finished the playoffs with two catches for 33 yards, although one of those catches went for a touchdown against the Rams.
Bobo was behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Cooper Kupp and Rashid Shaheed on the team's wide receiver depth chart, so there were only so many targets to go around for him when he was on the field.
Still, he will forever be a Super Bowl champion thanks to Sunday's outcome, and he did what he could by taking the field despite his injury.
