Drake Maye Reflects on Patriots' NFL Super Bowl 60 Loss to Seahawks in Emotional Postgame Video

Drake Maye is probably ahead of schedule by leading the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl as the MVP runner-up in just his second season as a starter in the NFL.

But that doesn't mean he wasn't going to get emotional following Sunday's 29-13 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

"That's what I told the guys in the locker room, man," he told reporters. "This is fuel. If it's not, then I don't know what this feeling would do for you. Because this is tough."

He also got quite emotional while breaking down the game and the journey to football's biggest stage:

Ultimately, Seattle's overpowering defense was too much for Maye and the rest of the Patriots offense.

The Seahawks sacked him six times, forced a fumble and picked him off twice, the second of which Uchenna Nwosu returned for a touchdown to add insult to injury when the NFC representative was already in full control.

Maye finished 27-of-43 for 295 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions, although much of the yardage came late in the fourth quarter when the outcome was already clear.

It should be noted he dealt with a shoulder injury in the lead up to the Super Bowl and told reporters the training staff had to shoot up his shoulder for Sunday's game.

However, he also said the injury didn't limit him on the field.

Sunday's outcome surely stings for New England, but the future remains bright.

This was just Maye's second season under center, and it was Mike Vrabel's first as the team's head coach. The combination figures to lead the way for the Patriots for years to come, and Maye had nothing but positive things to say about his head coach in the aftermath:
