Jaxon Smith-Njigba Injured During Super Bowl 60 vs. Patriots, Latest Updates on Seahawks WR
Seattle Seahawks star wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba left Sunday's Super Bowl in the third quarter and eventually went to the locker room. The team confirmed that he was being evaluated for a potential concussion.
It was a quiet evening for JSN before the injury, who had three catches and 24 yards on nine targets.
The Seahawks scored on the next drive, taking a 19-0 lead the felt insurmountable given how their defense was playing, which mitigated what could have been a devastating injury for the Seahawks in a more competitive matchup (New England did answer with its first touchdown shortly thereafter).
He returned to the game in the fourth quarter.
Smith-Njigba had a spectacular 2025 season, catching 119 passes for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was named a Pro Bowler, first-team All-Pro and the Offensive Player of the Year.
He's now reached 1,100 receiving yards in two straight seasons and is emerging as one of the NFL's truly elite playmakers.
"He's the best offensive player in the NFL," Seattle receiver Jake Bobo told Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic this week. "The stats show it. If you're kind of a scheme geek and you watch how defenses play him, that shows it. He is the most important offensive player every time we go out on the field. So, for a guy like that to contribute in the way he does to a team that's gotten to this point, he's your guy."
