Super Bowl 2026 Final Quarter-by-Quarter Box Score and Stats for Seahawks vs. Patriots

Erik BeastonFeb 9, 2026

The NFL crowned a new champion Sunday night in Santa Clara, California as the Seattle Seahawks dominated the New England Patriots on the strength of their defense, 29-13.

Running back Kenneth Walker III was named the MVP of the game after gashing the Patriots defense on the ground, becoming the first back to rush for more than 50 yards against the AFC champions this postseason.

Relive the biggest football game of the year through this look at the quarter-by-quarter box score and stats for top players.

First Quarter

Defense dominated the first quarter, with both units limiting the opposing offenses to a 3-0 score after 15 minutes.

Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold found some success early, completing a 23-yard pass to Super Bowl LVI MVP Cooper Kupp to extend a drive, but settled for a Jason Myers 33-yard kick to score the first points of the game.

New England found early success running the ball with Rhamondre Stevenson, but two sacks halted the Drake Maye and the Patriots' first two drives.

The AFC champs answered the Seattle defense, forcing punts on the Seahawks second and third drives as the quarter came to a close.

First Quarter Statline

Maye: 4/5, 34 yards, two sacks

Darnold: 4/10, 54 yards

Stevenson: 4 carries, 17 yards, reception, 7 yards

Kupp: reception, 23 yards

Second Quarter

The Seattle Seahawks extended their lead in Super Bowl LX in the second quarter of the game.

The Patriots pressured Darnold, creating chaos in the pocket and preventing him from finding Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Rashid Shaheed downfield.

Cornerback Christian Gonzalez was, arguably, the MVP of the first half, breaking up passes to each receiver that would have resulted in further scores and may have put the game out of hand early.

Instead, Myers continued to be the only scoring threat for either team, adding six points and allowing the NFC champions to head into halftime with a 9-0 lead.

The biggest takeaway from the quarter was the performance of running back Kenneth Walker III, who became the first running back to rush for more than 50 yards against the Patriots' defense this postseason.

Second Quarter Statline

Maye: 2/5, 14 yards, sack

Darnold: 5/12, 34 yards

Walker III: 9 carries, 78 yards, rec, 6 yards

Kupp: 3 recs, 21 yards

Third Quarter

The dominant Seattle defense continued its shutout of the Patriots, allowing just 25 yards to Maye and Co. while forcing the first turnover of the game when linebacker Derick Hall forced a fumble and DT Byron Murphy II recovered in the second-to-last play of the quarter.

The Seahawks did suffer a big blow late in the quarter, though, when Marcus Jones sniffed out a wide receiver screen to Smith-Njigba and the Offensive Player of the Year's head smacked the ground.

The Ohio State standout headed to the locker room for further evaluation and did not return as the fourth quarter got underway.

Third Quarter Statline

Maye: 2/8, 13 yards, two sacks, fumble

Darnold: 6/9, 74 yards, sack

Kupp: rec, 8 yards

Fourth Quarter

With 15 minutes left to determine a world champion, scoring opened up.

Capitalizing on the fumble recovery that ended the previous quarter, the Darnold and the Seahawks scored the game's first touchdown, a 16-yard pass to AJ Barner.

Down 19-0, and with desperation setting in, Maye made his two biggest throws of the game: a 24-yard pass down the middle of the field to Mack Hollins and a 35-yard pass to Hollins for a touchdown.

The momentum appeared to swing following a quick defensive stop for the Patriots but an ill-advised throw down the middle of the field by Maye resulted in an interceptions by safety Julian Love.

Kicker Myers achieved a new Super Bowl record with his fifth of the game to put the Seahawks up 22-7.

Any chance of a comeback was thwarted when the Seattle defense exploded through the offensive line for a sixth sack. An interception and defensive touchdown for linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, as the NFC champs took a 29-7 lead.

A touchdown just shy of the two-minute warning, from Maye to Stevenson, brought the score to 29-13, and a two-point conversion failed. So did an onside kick as Seattle took over possession with a chance to run out the clock. The Patriots got the ball back, but time ran out, and the Seahawks were crowned Super Bowl champions.

Final Statline

Maye: 27/43, 295 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs, 5 carries, 37 yards, 6 sacks

Darnold: 19/38, 202 yards, TD, 2 carries, 5 yards, sack

Walker III: 27 carries, 135 yards, 2 recs, 26 yards

Kupp: 6 rec, 61 yards

Hollins: 4 rec, 78 yards, TD
