20 Prop Bet Ideas for Your 2026 Super Bowl Party
Many NFL fans aren't thrilled about another Super Bowl featuring the New England Patriots. The Seattle Seahawks aren't exactly a novel or particularly intriguing draw, either.Â
Regardless, the Super Bowl is always a great excuse to throw a party. And what better to have at your gathering than some (responsible) gambling among friends and family?Â
If you're looking for some fun topics to toss a light wager on while the Patriots and Seahawks go at it in Super Bowl LX, you've come to the right place. Some could even be wedged into a drinking game, if you're old enough to imbibe legally and responsibly, of course.Â
We've come up with 20 fun props that you aren't likely to find at any sportsbook.
Will They or Won't They?
1 of 4Will They Reference the Decisive Play From Super Bowl XLIX?
Yes: -300
No: +300
If the Seahawks have the ball while trailing in the fourth quarter of a close game, will NBC cut to a replay of the infamous play in which the Patriots beat Seattle in the Super Bowl 11 years ago via a Malcolm Butler interception in the end zone?Â
Beyond that, will the broadcast reference Pete Carroll's decision to pass instead of run in that moment? It's hard to imagine the entire game passing without Carroll, Butler or Marshawn Lynch coming up in regard to that unforgettable play.Â
Will They Show Footage of Sam Darnold Working in This Stadium as a Backup Just Two Years Ago?
Yes: +233
No: -233
This would be another great opportunity for NBC to roll some tape. Darnold was a backup in San Francisco just two seasons ago.Â
Shots of him holding a tablet on the sideline at Levi's Stadium juxtaposed with him quarterbacking one of San Francisco's division rivals in the Super Bowl in that same venue are sports TV gold.Â
Will They Make Reference to Sam Darnold 'Seeing Ghosts?'
Yes: +2000
No: -2000
During a particularly poor performance in his lousy sophomore season with the Jets, Darnold was famously caught in a mic'd-up moment saying he was "seeing ghosts out there."
It was undoubtedly a low point for the No. 3 overall pick, who didn't last much longer with Gang Green and was soon widely labeled a bust until recently.Â
It's unlikely this will come up, but it's entirely possible it does if Darnold throws some interceptionsâor even if he excels but Mike Tirico wants to give us something along the lines of, "He's come a long way from seeing ghosts."
Will They Reference the New York Jets?
Yes: +400
No: -400
The Jets drafted Darnold, and they're constantly beaten up by division-rival New England. On top of that, they strongly pursued Pats head coach Mike Vrabel before he joined New England last offseason. This is therefore a brutal Super Bowl for that organization.Â
So, will the broadcast bring that up?
Questions of When (and How Often), Not If

O/U on Drake Maye Comparisons to Tom BradyÂ
Over 1.5: -110
Under 1.5: -110
It's inevitable, right? Will NBC have a full video package, or will we just hear passive references by the commentators?Â
Regardless, it's hard to imagine we won't be exposed to comparisons between the quarterback who led the Patriots to this game as a sophomore and the one who did the same thing 24 years ago.Â
O/U on Mentions of Sam Darnold as a 'Journeyman'
Over 2.5: -110
Under 2.5: -110
Darnold can become the first-ever quarterback to win the Super Bowl on his fifth NFL roster, and he's "accomplished" that in just a six-year span. His journeyman past will surely come up on the broadcast at some point.
The question is, how many times will it happen?
O/U on Mike Vrabel Chest Bumps
Over 3.5: -110
Under 3.5: -110
This one isn't easy to track, and it could be more up the drinking-game alley as a result. But it could be fun to monitor how often the hands-on Pats coach is spotted chest-bumping players on the broadcast, and to make the tally interesting. Â
O/U on References to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and/or Taylor Swift (Despite Them Having Nothing to Do With the Game)
Over 1.5: -110
Under 1.5: -110
The Kansas City Chiefs were part of five of the last six Super Bowls. They've dominated the national football zeitgeist throughout the 2020s. How many times will the broadcast allude to the key figures from that Chiefs team (and/or the famous fiancĂŠe of one)?
Mentions of Past Patriots/Seahawks Super Bowl Figures
3 of 4Brady and Belichick are almost certainly a given in general, but what about these guys...
Pete Carroll (O/U 2.5): The Seahawks' long-tenured former head coach, who led them to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014 and won Super Bowl XLVIII.
Russell Wilson (O/U 2.5): The Hall of Fame-bound quarterback from those teams.
Marshawn Lynch (O/U 1.5): The Hall of Fame-bound running back from those teams.
Mike Holmgren (Yes +500 / No -500): The head coach of the 2005 Seahawks team that went to Super Bowl XL.
Matt Hasselbeck (Yes +400 / No -400): The quarterback of that 2005 team.
Shaun Alexander (Yes +300 / No -300): The Seahawks running back who won MVP that season.
Jerod Mayo (O/U 0.5): A Super Bowl XLIX champ in New England who coached the Patriots during a lowly one-and-done 2024 season in which they went 4-13.
Will They Show Footage of Mike Vrabel as a Player?
Yes: -150
No: +150
The Patriots head coach won championships with the team in 2001, 2003 and 2004. He can become the first person to win as both a player and coach with the same organization.Â
Will Bill Belichick's Hall of Fame Snub Be Discussed?
Yes: -400
No: +400
The voters denying Belichick first-ballot enshrinement is one of the biggest non-Super Bowl stories in the NFL right now. With the Patriots in this game, it's hard to imagine he won't come up. And if he does, you'd expect Tirico, Cris Collinsworth or somebody else on set to make mention of the snub.Â
A better bet may be to count the total amount of time devoted to this. Maybe over/under 30 seconds?
Outside of the Game

Will Bad Bunny Make a Political Statement?
Yes: -150
No: +150
The outspoken halftime performer did exactly this while delivering an acceptance speech at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday. Given the Super Bowl's massive platform, a statement from Bad Bunny is well within the realm of possibility.
However, "political" is a broad term. It could range from a direct protest of federal immigration agents to a more general message of Puerto Rican pride and humanity.
For betting purposes, it is vital to establish strict grading criteria: Does a visual symbol (like a pin or a backdrop) count, or must it be a verbal "hot mic" moment?
Will Green Day Make a Political Statement? (Lyric Swap?)
Yes: -400
No: +400
Don't overlook the opening ceremony. Green Day has a 20-year history of using "American Idiot" as a vehicle for protest. The band has been known to swap out lyrics to take pointed political shots, so that has strong potential in a place and time like this.Â
For bettors, this makes the pregame ceremony just as live as the halftime show for political props.
O/U on Duration of Time Spent Discussing the 2026 Olympics
Over 100 seconds: -110
Under 100 seconds: +110
Almost as soon as the game wraps up, Mike Tirico will be on a plane to Milan to host the Winter Olympics coverage for NBC. The network will surely use the Super Bowl as a vehicle to promote the Games, which are getting underway as we speak.Â
Now, let's see how aggressively NBC will use the game for promotion and how often Tirico mentions his turnaround.Â
