Derrick Henry Eyes A.J. Brown Reunion with Ravens amid Eagles Trade Rumors

Julia StumbaughFeb 4, 2026

Derrick Henry says he would be happy to see the Baltimore Ravens trade for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown ahead of the 2026 season.

"Gladly love to have him," Henry said when asked Wednesday on the Up & Adams Show about trade rumors connecting Brown and the Ravens.

Henry then made his pitch for Brown to come join the Ravens.

"Please, A.J., come to Baltimore," Henry said. "Let's go get this ring. You got one in Philly, already did that."

Brown and Henry previously played three seasons together with the Tennessee Titans before Brown was traded to the Eagles ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Henry said he felt Brown would be a good fit with quarterback Lamar Jackson as well as wide receivers Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman and tight ends Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely.

"A.J.'s a dawg... L likes playing with guys who've got dawg mentality, so he'll love A.J.," Henry said.

Henry continued, "Him and Zay? That would be crazy. And then Bate, that would be crazy. Mark, we're gonna get Likely back, we're cooking."

The Athletic's Dianna Russini recently told PHLY Sports she feels Brown is going to get traded this offseason, and that as of the 2025 trade deadline the Eagles would have gotten a second-rounder in exchange.

The Eagles might need to get a bigger return than that to justify the dead cap hit that would come with trading Brown before June 1. That deal would come with $43.5 million in dead cap for the Eagles thanks to already-paid bonuses, according to Spotrac.

Trading Brown would be more doable after June 1, at which point the Eagles would take on about $16.4 million in dead cap and save around $7 million in cap space next season, per Spotrac.

That would require the deal to take place after the 2026 NFL draft in April, however, delaying the return the Eagles could get from whatever draft capital they might receive for Brown.

Regardless of those obstacles, it sounds like Henry is hoping the Ravens find a way to add another top target for Jackson ahead of Jesse Minter's first season as head coach in 2026.
