After going undrafted out of Missouri Western in 2018, Owens began his career with the Arizona Cardinals, but missed the entirety of his rookie season because of a knee injury.
He joined the Houston Texans practice squad during the 2019 campaign and eventually earned a spot on the active roster. He signed a reserve/future contract with the team at the end of the season.
Owens was on and off of the Texans' practice squad in 2020, but he eventually became a regular contributor in 2021, recording 18 tackles and an interception in seven games. He appeared in all 17 games for Houston in 2022, logging a career-high 125 tackles and four passes defended.
Owens spent the 2023 campaign with the Green Bay Packers before joining their rival Bears in 2024 on a two-year deal.
His stint with Chicago is now over, and he'll look to become a key piece of the Colts' defense after a bit of a down year in 2025.
