Joe Flacco, Jalen Hurts Added to 2026 NFL Pro Bowl Games Roster, Joining Shedeur Sanders

Adam WellsJan 30, 2026

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts were added to the roster for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games on Friday.

This marks Flacco's first career Pro Bowl selection after 18 seasons in the NFL. It also means that two quarterbacks who started games for the Cleveland Browns in 2025 will be taking part in the NFL's annual all-star festivities.

Flacco began the season with the Browns after signing a one-year deal last offseason. He started their first four games before getting benched in favor of Dillon Gabriel.

The Browns later sent Flacco and a 2026 sixth-round draft pick to the Bengals for a 2026 fifth-round pick. Cincinnati needed a stop-gap starter at the time with Joe Burrow out due to a toe injury and Jake Browning struggling in the games he started.

Flacco wound up starting six games for the Bengals. He threw for 1,636 yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions in those games.

The original list of AFC quarterbacks on the Pro Bowl roster were Josh Allen, Drake Maye and Justin Herbert. Maye is unavailable to participate since the New England Patriots are preparing for the Super Bowl.

Allen, who was voted in as the AFC starter, recently underwent surgery to repair a foot injury that he had been dealing with since Week 16. Herbert played through a fractured left hand that required surgery prior to Week 14.

Other notable AFC quarterbacks who are also out with injuries include Patrick Mahomes (torn ACL), Bo Nix (broken ankle) and Daniel Jones (torn Achilles).

Trevor Lawrence was among the alternates for the team. It hasn't been confirmed if he declined an invitation, but that would seem likely since he isn't on the squad at this point.

The addition of Flacco to the roster means he now has a Pro Bowl appearance to go along with his Super Bowl 48 MVP and 2023 Comeback Player of the Year award.

Hurts joins the fray after the Eagles finished 11-6 and exited the NFL playoffs in the Wild Card round against the San Francisco 49ers.

Hurts, a Pro Bowler in 2022 and 2023, threw for 3,224 yards and a career-high 25 touchdowns as the Eagles captured back-to-back NFC East titles.

Originally a fifth alternate for the Pro Bowl, Hurts will replace Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford.

This year's Pro Bowl Games will take place on Feb. 3 from the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
