Dodgers President Andrew Friedman Reveals He Spiked a Barstool During Game 3 of 2025 World Series

An 18-inning World Series game may be thrilling to neutral fans who are tuned in for hours of entertainment.

But it is seemingly excruciating for a team's president of baseball operations.

So much so that Los Angeles Dodgers president Andrew Friedman revealed he spiked a barstool during his team's eventual 6-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 3 of the Fall Classic that ended up going 18 innings.

"It was a very intense series," he said. "Everyone keeps talking about how great it was, and I'm sure it was for a lot of people. There were times I had to step back and remember to breathe and take breaths. Something I'm not very proud of, I may or may not have spiked a barstool in that Game 3. And it's because of the range of emotions."

Friedman explained it happened when he thought Will Smith ended the contest with a walk-off homer in the 14th inning, only for the ball to be caught against the wall.

It initially looked like so much of a home run that Smith even dropped his bat and stared it down while taking a couple of steps out of the batter's box before realizing it wasn't going to leave the park.

Fortunately for Friedman and the Dodgers, the National League representative ended up winning that game in the 18th when Freddie Freeman launched a walk-off home run that did not get caught at the wall.

That put Los Angeles ahead 2-1 in the series before it eventually prevailed in seven games.

Which was surely welcome news for all the barstools in Dodger Stadium.
