Josh Allen Backs Keon Coleman After Bills Owner's Comments, Says He's 'Not Giving Up' on WR

Doric SamJan 29, 2026

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman was criticized by team owner Terry Pegula last week, but he still has the support of his quarterback.

While speaking to reporters on Thursday, Bills signal-caller Josh Allen said of Coleman, "He will come back from that. I'm not going to give up on 0. … We will find ways to win football games, and he's going to be a part of that."

Pegula brought up Coleman while speaking to reporters after the firing of head coach Sean McDermott, claiming that McDermott was responsible for the Bills drafting the wideout with the No. 33 pick in 2024 while general manager Brandon Beane was "being a team player" by making the selection.

Coleman is coming off a disappointing 2025 season in which he was benched multiple times and finished with 38 catches for 404 yards and four touchdowns. He recorded a touchdown reception in Buffalo's loss to the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round.

The Bills made a major change by promoting offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach to replace McDermott. The team is certainly hoping to unlock Coleman's full potential with Brady running the show, and Allen sounds prepared for the challenge.

However, the 2024 NFL MVP could need some time before he works on his connection with Coleman on the field. Beane told reporters on Thursday that Allen "went and had his foot fixed" after playing through an injury toward the end of the year, and he was seen wearing a walking boot and using crutches.

Still, Coleman should feel comfortable that his quarterback hasn't given up on him, and he should be motivated to prove himself in 2026.
