Robert Mathis Injury: Updates on Colts DE's Achilles and Recovery
Indianapolis Colts defensive end Robert Mathis was active for Week 2 against the New York Jets, announced owner Jim Irsay, after missing Week 1 as he continued to rehab from an Achilles injury.
On Sept. 17, head coach Chuck Pagano said the team was still "playing it by ear" with Mathis, according to George Bremer of the Anderson Herald Bulletin.
"Mathis had 10 surgical procedures over past year to prevent infection and ensure his Achilles was healing right," reported ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sept. 13, citing sources.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Mathis missed the entirety of the 2014 season after being suspended for the first four games and then suffering a torn Achilles during training.
When healthy, however, Mathis is one of the elite pass-rushers in the NFL. He registered 19.5 sacks in 2013 and has accumulated 111 sacks in his career. Even at 34 and coming off a missed year, Mathis will provide the Colts with an upgrade off the edge and instantly boost the team's defensive line.
