AFC Prediction

The Patriots and Broncos were the AFC's two hottest teams throughout the season, and they share some traits. Both have experienced head coaches, second-year quarterbacks, and defenses that can take over a game.
Of course, Denver's defense is the better of the two by a considerable margin. The Broncos probably boast the best pass rush in the NFL, which could be a major issue for New England.
Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has been sacked 10 times through two playoff games.
However, New England's defense dominated the Los Angeles Chargers and the Houston Texans en route to the AFC Championship. It flustered quarterbacks Justin Herbert and C.J. Stroud while surrendering 19 combined points in those two wins.
And while Maye does take too many sacks, he's played near an MVP level for most of the year.
Bo Nix and the Broncos defense led Denver to an overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills last week. Unfortunately, Nix suffered a broken bone in his ankle near the end of the game and will be out for the remainder of the playoff. The Broncos' offense may be a bit less efficient with Jarrett Stidham at quarterback, but coach Sean Payton plans to be aggressive.
"He's going to rip it, and that'll be our approach," Payton said, per ESPN's Jeff Legwold. "He's got this calm demeanor that suits him well."
It's worth noting that Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels may have some insight into how to slow Stidham, having previously coached him with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The prediction here is that Patriots coach Mike Vrabel calls for a run-oriented attack that keeps Denver's defense off-balance. The Broncos' pass rush will wreck the game if New England allows it, but the Patriots might have an edge on the ground.
The Bills rushed for 5.1 yards per carry and 183 yards last weekend. A dynamic rushing attack led by Maye, Rhamondre Stevenson, and TreVeyon Henderson can make the difference for the Patriots.
Prediction: Patriots 32, Broncos 27
NFC Prediction

As NFC West rivals, the Seahawks and Rams are quite familiar with one another. This will mark their third meeting of the 2025-26 season, and fans couldn't ask for a better NFC matchup.
The Rams won the first regular-season meeting by two points, while Seattle won Round 2 by a single point in overtime. We can probably expect the next battle to be a close one.
Los Angeles has played two tight playoff contests to reach the NFC Championship. MVP favorite Matthew Stafford helped lead a fourth-quarter comeback against the Carolina Panthers in the wild-card round. Last weekend, escaped an icy matchup with the Chicago Bears on an overtime field goal.
L.A. features a balanced roster with an elite quarterback a top-tier receiving corps and a terrific defensive front. However, the Rams' defensive back seven leaves a little something to be desired, which could be an issue if Seattle's passing game gets going.
Sam Darold has provided some potency to Seattle's passing attack, while the Seahawks have their own star receiver in Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Of course, the team's biggest strength is a championship-caliber defense that rivals Denvers.
Seattle finished the regular season ranked sixth in total defense and first in points allowed. The Seahawks will have a great chance to win this game because of that defense and the home-field advantage Seattle provides.
However, the prediction here is that the Rams create enough chaos defensively to escape with a victory. Los Angeles has figured out how to force Darnold into mistakes, as safety Kamren Curl recently noted.
"Our secondary, we know what type of quarterback he is," Curl told The Arena: Gridiron podcast (h/t Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire). "And our D-line pass rush, going back to last year in the wild card, we got after him."
Dating back to his time with the Minnesota Vikings in 2024, the Rams have gone 3-1 against Darnold while forcing him into eight turnovers and recording 16 sacks.
Seattle may try to take Darnold out of the game plan a bit, but with Zach Charbonnet out for the season, leaning exclusively on the run may be impossible. The team that makes the fewest mistakes should win this one, and recent history suggests that the Rams will be that team.
Prediction: Rams 36, Seahawks 35
